Please remember this is just my take on them.
In all I will say I like hostgator. They offer alot for resellers with the free WHMCS and Basekit website builder. To me though the price and the amount the space they provide is too little for too much money. The basic plane is $24.95 for 50 GB space and 500 GB of width. Which is decent. They do over stack the servers bad.Many of times I would complain about sites running so slow that the barely open at all. I also get told to clear my cache. I hate that answer alot, to me it's just a generic macro. Besides that I never really had any huge problems. If I needed something done it would get done in time. Never right away since they service so many customers.
In I would recommended them is you are looking for a decent stable host. Do expect to spend alot more then other places though.
Don't they have a QA team? You could email them to move your site to a less occupied server which they should.
The moved me twice but each time I kept having the same problems.
