A CDN (Content Delivery Network) is a network of geographically distributed servers that work together to deliver website content to users more quickly and efficiently. Here is how it works:

A user requests a page from a website that uses a CDN.

The request is routed to the nearest edge server in the CDN network. This is the server that is geographically closest to the user, which reduces latency and improves page load times.

The edge server checks to see if it has a copy of the requested content in its cache. If it does, it delivers the content to the user from its cache. If it doesn't, it retrieves the content from the origin server (the server where the website is hosted).

The edge server then caches the content so that it can be delivered more quickly to other users who request the same content in the future.

If the content changes on the origin server, the CDN automatically updates the cache so that users receive the latest version.
