Allan

As an established host what advice would you have for beginners just starting out?

Shamz

I'm also thinking of starting a webhost, and as you're already in this business, what adive can you give Allan?

Allan

Best advice I can give is make sure you know how to help others, support is the biggest thing that could kill host.

Shamz

Thank you, I'll keep this in mind.

Allan

No problem, the other thing I wanted to mention is make sure you have patience. It will take a long time before you see clients and making a profit.

Shamz

Actually I'm thinking of starting a web dev company in my hometown, so want to use a reseller hosting service for that.

Allan

resellers are a great place to start, they are pretty cheap and come with a lot of extra's.

Shamz

And is there any worth going for other than hostgator?

Allan

I used Hostgator for a long time, but I realized they are very expensive for what they are offering. I would advice you to google and read reviews.

Shamz

Thanks, I'm googling.
I thought of hostgator because of the reliability.

Allan

Problem I have seen with them is the overload their shared hosting bad.

Shamz

Yes and I also just got to know that they dont allow oversell, which can be a problem.

Allan

I agree that overselling is nice, but if you watch your space you can upgrade packages before you run into problems.

Allan

Have you decided on what you are going to do?

Shamz

Not yet, thinking of getting a shared unlimited plan instead.
